Gian and Marcelo are longtime childhood friends but never had the chance to make music together until their early 30s.
The only detail is that currently, one lives in California and the other in Estonia. But the distance was only an extra incense for them to make music together.
During the 2020 pandemic, they both decided to create an album exploring new possibilities for both of them and they decided to give LO-FiI their own take on the genre.
Gian has a strong background as a film composer and music producer and has decided to create interesting textures and beats for Marcelo that using his longtime expertise on South American Folk Flutes added his flavor to the tracks.
Released by Astral Wolf Records Americana EP is the result of their first few tracks together. An album about their relationship with their hometown in the state of Sāo Paulo, Brazil.
The nostalgia and angst of those times are clearly represented on the tracks but lightened by the innocence and romance of a young's man's heart.
Americana EP is about honoring and making peace with their roots.
